Authorities Investigating Reported Rape of a Juvenile

Sevierville Police Department (SPD) detectives are investigating a reported rape of a juvenile male. The rape allegedly occurred on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at Sevier County High School (SCHS). Three juvenile males have been identified as suspects. The victim and suspects are all students at SCHS. It does not appear that the victim sustained serious physical injuries.

Sevier County School System staff were notified of the alleged rape today, Thursday, September 8, 2016 and subsequently reported the incident to the Department of Childrens Services and the Sevierville Police Department.

SPD detectives immediately began an investigation and have conferred with school staff and the Attorney General's Office. The investigation is in the very early stages; no charges have been filed at this point.

Due to the ongoing investigation and the ages of the victim and suspects, no additional information will be released at this time. As the investigation progresses, more information will be forthcoming.
